Rain disrupted play on the first day with only 140 minutes play possible after the lunch break
IR Hampton suffered a badly bruised thumb on the first day when stopping a hard-hit shot in the gully so didn't bat in the Nelson first innings with RD Wilson acting as captain in the field and 12th man GN Edwards fielding in his place
