--> Wickets given to bowlers do not agree with batting scorecard for the South Canterbury first innings
--> Wickets given to bowlers do not agree with batting scorecard for the Canterbury XI first innings
--> W Morrison retired not out in the South Canterbury second innings having scored 0 (team score 53/6)

The match commenced at 2.45pm on the first day but two of the Canterbury XI, J Danks and JH Harkness, had missed the mail train that took the team to Timaru so two of the local players fielded as substitutes with one of them, HW White, taking a catch. Danks and Harkness arrived in Timaru on the express train just in time to bat in the Canterbury XI first innings with 7 wickets being down when they arrived.
On the second day W Morrison failed to arrive at the ground at the start time of 10.30am so was retired. BR Macdonald had also not arrived at the ground so when the eighth wicket fell the match was effectively over. However, it was agreed to allow two local players to replace the two players who had not arrived at the ground.
